Our Group

Our Group was set up and we took over the Library on 20th May 2016 in response to Leicestershire County Council’s decision to withdraw staffing for rural Libraries.

We wanted to save this fantastic building and village resource for current and future residents. If we had not come forward, the Library would have closed. We are a registered charity (number 1165707) and are working to become self-funding over time as the County Council funding reduces.

  Opening Hours

MONDAY : 2pm – 5pm
TUESDAY : 2pm – 5pm
WEDNESDAY : CLOSED
THURSDAY : 10am – 12 noon
4pm – 7pm
FRIDAY : CLOSED
SATURDAY: 10am – 1pm
SUNDAY : CLOSED

  Our Aim

Our aim, with the continued support of Leicestershire County Council, is to maintain current Services such as free book loans to adults and children, along with a range of reading initiatives for the young. In the longer term, we aim to build on what works well by extending the range of Services and activities on offer – giving everyone in the community a reason to visit the Library.

Tickets £5

Available at: www.bcaf.net

Burbage Community Library is a small intimate venue… so spaces will be limited

We are absolutely delighted to be hosting this event for BCAF 2019

Sue Ablett is a passionate traveller, having notched up visits to countries on all continents.  She is also a very experienced and enthusiastic speaker, taking her audiences along on voyages of discovery, and all from the comfort of their armchairs.

When not travelling, Sue is a keen distance runner and cyclist.  She loves reading and has far more books than her bookshelves allow. So she'll feel right at home in our venue!

Her talk Around the World in 80 Days was compiled as a 'travel talk with a literary twist' for the inaugural 2016 Evesham Festival.  It proved so popular that Sue's 'travel talks with a literary twist' have now become a regular fixture in the Evesham Festival programme.

The talk is fast-moving and fun - with something for everyone, whatever your interests.

time, energy, passion and vision into making rural communities happier, healthier, stronger and amore prosperous place to live and work.
