BOOK SHOP NEWS

The Friendly Bookshop

“The Friendly Bookshop” will also be officially opened on Sunday 19th September, immediately after the Friendly Bench opening.

Many thanks go to the residents of Burbage for the generous donation of thousands of books of all kinds, and bookcases that were badly needed. Books will be 50p minimum each but any larger donation will be much appreciated to help us to keep the Library open.

Carole Kemp of the Library said, “All of the books are now shelved and put in author order for everyone to find easily There are plenty to choose from; fiction, cookery, gardening, biographies and many more. Most authors seem to have a book in there of one sort or another so hopefully we will cater for all and of course, there are plenty of children’s books from birth to teenagers as well.”

The Grove Road Schools PTFA Scarecrow Festival is also on this day and we will be serving refreshments from 10 am onwards so we look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.

Amazon Smile

Did you know by using Amazon Smile...

...0.5% OF THE NET PURCHASE PRICE FROM ELIGIBLE AMAZONSMILE PURCHASES TO BURBAGE COMMUNITY LIBRARY... AND IT COSTS YOU NOTHING!

All you have to do is next time you shop at Amazon, type in the URL smile.amazon.co.uk and then ‘Login’ to your Amazon Account and follow the on screen prompts …

In the ‘Or pick your own Charitable Organisation’ search box type Burbage Community Library (not case sensitive) and again follow the onscreen prompts.

If you use the URL smile.amazon.co.uk every time you shop at Amazon they will donate 0.5% of the net purchase price from eligible AmazonSmile purchases to Burbage Community Library, so it’s a good idea to ‘Bookmark’ this. …

Whilst 0.5% may not seem a lot, as a charitable organisation, ‘every penny counts’ and periodically Amazon improve this … for example they recently increased it to 5% for a short period of time.

Burbage Community Library Management Committee would like to THANK YOU for taking the time to read this and hope you can help us benefit from Amazon’s donations …

Donations Wanted

As a Registered Charity we rely totally on our Volunteers, donations and fundraising events to keep the Library open for the Community of Burbage…
We are currently looking for the following:

Books - both adults and
Talking Books
Local History literature

Books - New Arrivals

Please note: Due to the high demand of new arrivals the book you would like may already have been loaned, but don’t be too disheartened as you can reserve any book.
