The Burbage Community Library makes every effort to provide a high standard of service and to treat all Library users equally and fairly. We continuously endeavour to improve our services and we value any feedback that will help us to do this. 
 
The Library will review all Comments, Compliments and Complaints on a regular basis. This helps us to develop the services that work best for you, so please let us know what you think. We report on user feedback in the Library’s Annual Report. 
 
 
Comments and Compliments: 
If you are happy with the service or have any comments we would love to hear from you. 
 
 
Complaints: 
We also want to know if there is any part of our service you are unhappy with. We take all feedback seriously and we will take action when appropriate to do so. All complaints will be dealt with in a timely and professional manner. Please note the Library may publish the replies given to any queries raised, but will respect the confidentiality of the individuals concerned. 
 
 
How to make a complaint: 
The first thing to do if you are unhappy about any aspect of our services is to bring this to the attention of one of the Library Volunteers as soon as possible. They will try to resolve your concerns immediately. If you are unhappy at the way you have been treated by one of the Volunteers please Contact Us. 
 
If you cannot or do not wish to make contact with us in person, you have the option of e-mailing, writing or telephoning us. 
 
 
What you can do to help us deal effectively and quickly with your complaint: 
Contact us to request a Comments, Compliments and Complaints Form as soon as possible giving clear details specifying what aspect of the Library service you wish to make the complaint about. 

Library User Guide 

 
Your welfare whilst using our Library is of paramount importance to us so please be aware of our LIBRARY USER GUIDE as detailed below: 
 
A Library user shall not give a false name and address to access the Library services and facilities. 
 
No dogs are allowed in the Library with the exception of assistance dogs. 
 
Cycles and scooters* are not allowed in the Library. *Mobility scooters are allowed. 
 
All Library users must vacate the Library at closing of the session. 
 
No books shall be taken out of the Library without the books being date stamped and issued using a Library card. 
 
At all times the books, furniture and other materials within the Library shall be treated with respect and not damaged. 
 
If a Library user wishes to copy an article or part of a book they must check with a Volunteer it is appropriate to do so. 
 
If a Library book is not returned by the stamped date, and at a later date the fine not paid, the lender may be refused the loan of other books. 
 
Goods are not permitted to be sold within the Library unless with consent of the committee. 
 
Sleeping in the Library is not permitted at any time. 
 
Burbage Community Library will not tolerate any anti-social behaviour to its Volunteers or other members of the public whilst within the buildings or gardens, such as: 
 
Spitting 
Violent abusive or obscene language 
Causing a nuisance that stops other users enjoying the Library, including the playing of music via any media source. 
Inappropriate behaviour which includes the use of personal IT devices to access the Wi-Fi to view inappropriate material; the misuse of memory sticks and other electronic recording media. 
 
Failure to observe these guidelines will result in the person being asked to leave the Library. 
Further contravention will result in the person being banned from the Library and the police involved if necessary.
